Collection consists of business correspondence; financial records and ledgers; land purchases; expenditures; leases; lists of stockholders and land scrip holders; and executive committee, board of directors, and/or stockholder meeting minutes all documenting the negotiations for acquisition and disbursement of Texas lands in the 1850s through the early 1900s. The companies involved are the New York and Texas Land Company, the Texas Land Company, The Texas Land Syndicate, the International and Great Northern Railroad Company, the Brazos Internal Improvement and Navigation Company, and the Espuela Land and Cattle Company.
